Get to know Miss Connors

Hi! I'm Miss. Connors - your Year 5 teacher. Here are some fun facts about me:

I love to travel the world and I love being outside, whether that's cycling, hiking or exploring new places.
I'm big into food, and I love to cook. My favourite meal is a spicy curry!
Sadly, I do not have any pets currently, but I would love to have a dog in the future.
My favourite colour is emerald green.
I have spent a lot of time in Spanish speaking countries, so I can get by well in Spanish.

Class Information

PE:

We have PE on Tuesday afternoons. Please make sure that your child is wearing the correct PE uniform and that jewellery is not worn that day.

Homework:

Reading: It is so important that children read for at least 15 minutes every day. Their reading journal needs to be signed by a parent to show this.

Times Tables Rock Stars: TTRS also needs to be completed daily to further children's times table knowledge and speed.

MyMaths: MyMaths needs to be completed weekly. It helps children to consolidate the Maths learning that we are doing in class.

Trips:

On Monday 17th June, as part of our love for reading, we will be attending a Meet the Author Workshop where children will meet Martin Brown, illustrator of the ‘Horrible Histories’ series, and be able to ask him their questions.

On Thursday 11th July, we will be visiting the Holly Lodge Centre for a workshop linked to our Science on Living Things and their Habitats.

We also have some other workshops coming up in school. We will be joined by:

- Fire Officers on Monday 20th May, to learn more about fire safety

- Police Officers on Wednesday 22nd May, to learn about knives/offensive weapons, gangs/youth violence and drugs & alcohol

- We will participating in an online session about John Blanke on Tuesday 21st May
