Extra-Curricular Activities
In addition to the ambitious and broad curriculum delivered in lessons, here at St Richard's, we also offer our pupils access to a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
Extra-curricular activities help pupils to:
- discover their talents and interests;
- develop skills in areas outside of the National Curriculum;
- promote positive mental wellbeing.
To ensure all children have access to extra-curricular activities and to support with childcare, we offer a range of different sessions during lunchtimes and after school.
Lunchtime Clubs
Lunchtime clubs are offered by school staff during pupils' lunch break. They are run free of charge and, where possible, all children are given access to at least one club of their choosing. Different clubs are offered termly with children signing up through their Class Teacher.
Clubs on offer include:
- Art
- Board Games
- Book Club
- Chess
- Dance
- Football
- Gardening
- Mindfulness
- Netball

After School Clubs
After school clubs are run termly by external companies, who specialise in delivering extra-curricular activities for primary-aged pupils. The school subsidises these activities to keep costs to parents to a minimum. After school clubs last 1 hour, starting at the end of the school day and finishing at 4.15pm. The school ensures that all staff have undergone the required safeguarding checks to work with children.
Clubs on offer include:
- Dance
- Football
- Gymnastics
- Martial Arts
- Tag Rugby
- Tennis
Parents will receive a letter at the start each of term detailing which clubs are running. Children can then be signed-up through ParentPay on a first-come, first-served basis.
